OUR EVENTS

DR4EU organise workshops and events to share views on the implementation of Demand Response participation in all electricity markets.

Since 2022, we’ve had a new series of workshops to hear and share experience with key policy makers and stakeholders at national level, country per country: what is the state of play regarding DR, and which are the upcoming evolutions.

27 March 2026

The event featured targeted interventions from the European Commission, ACER, energy think tanks, large energy consumers from industry and digital services, renewable energy associations and demand-response aggregators. The purpose was to highlight key implementation priorities in 2026 with a view to meeting 2030 targets.

Aug 2025

Through this online workshop series, we explore demand response across Europe, hearing from national policymakers and stakeholders to share insights and experiences.

6 December 2022

This workshop brought together 130 participants from 18 countries to discuss policy progress on the Clean Energy Package and its ongoing implementation.

29 May 2022

In terms of physics, having DR participate in wholesale electricity markets is necessary to ensure it matches the needs of flexibility entailed by a wide use of renewables: you need GWs of DR to balance the intermittency of GWs of renewables.

June and July 2021

After an initial joint EER and DR4EU event on 6th May 2021 focusing on The Benefits of Demand Response for Electricity Suppliers and Consumers, with the participation of DGENER and CEER, a series of workshops were organised to address various aspects of the implementation of the European legislation in the market.

6 May 2021

With 100 participants from 22 countries, after keynote from CEER and introduction by DGENER, this event focused on:

1. Policy discussion based on the Clean Energy Package and the results of a study quantifying the Benefits of Demand Response

2. Practical experiences of Demand Response from:

– Large consumers in Finland with Väre & Sympower

– Residential consumers in France with ekWateur & Voltalis
